My official marathon training won’t begin until May so I’m needing to map out my training prior to that. I’m going to start with some cross training beginning today to strengthen my core, upper body, and legs. In the past I’ve always just ran paying no attention to strength. My goal is to keep up with short runs 4 days a week with cross training in hopes that it will keep injuries, aches, and pains at a minimum. Going to be a long journey, but when it’s all said and done will be well worth the accomplishment.
The great weather of spring hasn’t even arrived yet and it is already shaping up to be a great running season!! I can hardly wait for our group runs to kick off and to do some 5k, 10k, and maybe a couple of half-marathons before my official training kicks off.
